My Prayer

As another long crazy week comes to an end . . . I believe I figured out  “The Trickster” . . . But God says this (The Message paraphrase says it best this morning) . . .

My dear children, you come from God and belong to God. You have already won a big victory over those false teachers, for the Spirit in you is far stronger than anything in the world. These people belong to the Christ-denying world. They talk the world’s language and the world eats it up. But we come from God and belong to God. Anyone who knows God understands us and listens. The person who has nothing to do with God will, of course, not listen to us. This is another test for telling the Spirit of Truth from the spirit of deception. (1 John 4:4, The Message)

But also this . . . “Be Still and Know that I am God!” (Psalm 46:10).

My prayer today is that I allow myself to Be Still and Know that HE is God but also that I allow Him to be the Shepherd of My Heart.

  1. Rebecca Walding says:

This week I have been faced with uncertainity about my health and lots of people were standing in the gap for me. What I experienced through this time is the amazing love of God and the assurance that HE is so big and so real. When I should have been anxious, I was calm, when I should have been worried, I was at peace, when I should have been confused, I had clarity. All because He is who He says He is and He does care about each and every one of us and because I was still enough to listen to his tender words that said, Trust me, I am in control.

This devotion reminds me once again how big, how high His love for us is and how much He really does love each and every one of us.

    • YES! HE is in Control . . . and I’m learning the same thing. Love you and have been praying for you . . . and HE is who HE says HE is and HE does LOVE us!! Thanks for your words of encouragement.

      Love, Lorna

  2. Elizabeth says:

Lorna, good choice on Be Still and know that I am God. Richard Rohr wrote in his book Letting Go: A Spirituality of Subtraction, If I could advise one thing for spiritual growth, it would be silence.

  3. Dianne says:

I have finally opened my heart to God and He said you must rest, and read the Bible, and study the Bible, and pray. In doing this daily, I feel so rested and I am looking at life through different eyes.

    Love Ya,
    Dianne

    • I’m so glad to hear that from you – I’ll be praying that you are able to continue on your journey of resting, reading, studying, and praying. Maybe oneday we can get together and talk about it! Love you!
